(QNO) - On June 12, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Nam (QVFFC) and the Lao Front for National Development of Sekong (SLFND) had a meeting to assess the results of three-year cooperation under the Memorandum of Cooperation for the period 2022-2027.
Present at the meeting were QVFFC Chairman Le Tri Thanh, SLFND Chairman Vilaivan Dalasin, and representatives from various departments and sectors of the two provinces.
During the meeting, Le Tri Thanh warmly welcomed the SLFND delegation. He stated that the enduring friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos, especially between Quang Nam and Sekong, is a priceless asset built on generations of comprehensive cooperation.
He highlighted that, over the years, both parties have effectively implemented their cooperation agreements, contributing to peaceful borders, improved lives, and strengthened ties.
Looking ahead, Quang Nam plans to merge with Da Nang to form a new administrative unit and will continue developing a practical cooperation framework, going on economic, cultural, and social exchanges, and ensuring sustainable collaboration between the two localities.
Vilaivan Dalasin expressed her gratitude for Quang Nam’s sincere support over the years, especially in improving human resources, providing capital, and developing livelihoods, which have enhanced local lives.
She believed that the QVFFC - SLFND relationship will continue to strengthen, helping maintain and promote the enduring friendship, solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
At the meeting, both parties agreed to maintain regular exchanges, expand cooperation, and focus on training, living conditions, and border security. They will also raise public awareness of policies and mobilize support for joint economic development.
