DNO - A Broadway musical classic titled "Camelot" will take the stage at Da Nang’s Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong Theater for three nights from June 20 - 22.

The full-fledged Broadway musical, featuring live singing, dance, sword combat and theatrical staging, will be performed entirely in English (with Vietnamese subtitles).
This is a rare large-scale English-language musical event in Da Nang, a city traditionally associated with traditional performing arts.
Based on an ancient legend, Camelot tells the story of King Arthur, his queen Guenevere and the noble knight Lancelot, a love triangle that tests the fellowship of the Round Table and Arthur's dream of a kingdom ruled not by force but by law, courage and compassion.
First staged on Broadway in 1960, the musical remains the source of some of timeless songs in musical theatre, including “If Ever I Would Leave You” and the theme song “Camelot”.
What sets this production apart is the company behind it: performers and creatives from 10 countries across five continents, Vietnam, the US, Germany, Russia, Brazil, the Philippines, Kazakhstan, Italy, India and Tunisia, brought together largely from Da Nang’s growing international community.
At the heart of the story are King Arthur, played by music director René van Nguyen; Queen Guenevere, played by Julia Hausmann; and Sir Lancelot, played by founder and executive producer Denis Burkatsky. Two of the three lead actors also help steer the production behind the scenes.
Mr. Alex Castaneda, the owner of Da Nang 365, shared “Bringing the musical Camelot to Da Nang is an opportunity to enrich the city's cultural and artistic life, while also giving audiences the chance to experience a large-scale international musical - something still quite rare in Vietnam”.
He voiced his hope that Camelot will inspire more collaborations between international artists, producers, and cultural organizations, thereby contributing to building a more vibrant, diverse, and dynamic artistic life for Da Nang in the years to come.
