Da Nang promotes tourism in Japan

DNO - Da Nang’s tourism industry held a tourism promotion program in Tokyo (Japan) on Thursday under the theme “Return to Origin”.

The event attracted more than 100 participants, including representatives from the Embassy of Vietnam in Japan, Japanese tourism and travel associations, and Japan-based airlines, business partners, and media agencies.

Notably, the program was supported by Vietnam Airlines which is working to strengthen air connectivity between Da Nang and major Japanese cities, helping to strongly boost tourism, trade and cultural exchange activities between the two countries in the new development phase.

Following the emerging travel trends in Japan, tourists are increasingly prioritizing wellness and healing retreats, slow travel, authentic cultural experiences, nature-based tourism, extended stays, and emotionally rich journeys that foster deeper connections with local communities and destinations.

This trend aligns closely with Da Nang’s current tourism development strategy.

Beyond its reputation as a dynamic coastal city known for luxury resorts, world-class golf courses, and modern tourism infrastructure, Da Nang is now expanding its tourism products through a diverse ecosystem of cultural, heritage, and natural experiences across central Vietnam.

In the coming years, the local tourism industry will focus on developing high-quality, sustainable tourism products rich in cultural value.

Additionally, the city will continue to intensify its promotional efforts through the “Return to Origin” campaign in Tokyo.

Through the campaign, the city will showcase the images and colors of Da Nang tourism to the Japanese tourism market through five main themes: Touching Heritage, Touching Tranquility, Touching Primal Nature, Touching Memorable Moments and Touching the Flavors.

During the first five months of 2026, Da Nang welcomed nearly 164,317 Japanese visitors, accounting for 3.65% of the city’s total international arrivals, reaffirming Japan’s position as one of Da Nang’s key tourism markets.

The expansion of direct air routes linking Da Nang with Tokyo (Narita), Osaka, and Nagoya has also played an important role in strengthening tourism, trade, and cultural exchanges between Vietnam and Japan.
