Mr. Le Quoc Viet, Head of the Quang Nam Destination Club and a member of the organizing committee, said that through such activities, the organizers wanted to create an open space for connection, where ideas related to responsible tourism, green mobility, and community development can be widely shared.
Held during the first week of June, Wecyc Week was launched by Ashui.com in 2019 in response to World Bicycle Day (June 3) and World Environment Day (June 5).
The initiative promotes cycling and environmentally friendly transportation as a means of reducing carbon emissions and helping maintain clean air and a healthy urban living environment.
In the long term, Wecyc Week contributes to changing traditional perceptions of transportation, raising public awareness of sustainable mobility, and encouraging a shift away from highly polluting private motor vehicles toward public transport and low-emission modes of travel in Vietnam’s urban areas.
