DNO - The Da Nang People’s Committee has approved the construction of Resettlement Area No. 2 to accommodate households displaced by the Hoa Lien – Tuy Loan section of the North-South Expressway.
The project, located in Ba Na commune, will be implemented between 2021 and 2025 with a total investment of VND 231 billion (approximately US$9 million) from the city’s budget.
The resettlement area will be developed with comprehensive infrastructure, including ground leveling, internal roads, drainage systems, water supply, public lighting, parks, and green spaces.
It will also involve the relocation of medium- and low-voltage power lines, a 220kV transmission tower, and telecommunication networks.
Once completed, the area is expected to provide long-term, stable living conditions for relocated families while contributing to urban development in the city’s western region.
The Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan expressway section itself stretches 11.5 kilometers and carries a total investment of VND 2.113 trillion (about US$ 83 million), funded by the state budget.
The route runs through Lien Chieu and Hoa Khanh wards, and Ba Na Commune.
Construction began in September 2023, and after nearly two years of work, the project reached a major milestone in August 2025 with the completion of the main route and essential facilities, marked by a technical inauguration ceremony.
Da Nang officials highlighted that the resettlement project underscores Da Nang’s dual focus on infrastructure growth and social welfare.
By ensuring that affected households are relocated to well-equipped areas, the city aims to balance economic development with community stability.
In addition to supporting the expressway, the resettlement area is expected to create new opportunities for land use, attract investment and help position western Da Nang as an emerging growth hub in line with the city’s long-term development strategy.
