DNO - The ancient town of Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Da Nang, central Vietnam, will host the Mid-Autumn Festival 2025 from October 3 to 6 (the 12th to 15th day of the 8th lunar month.
Organised by the Hoi An Center for Cultural Heritage Management and Preservation, the festival aims to celebrate and preserve Vietnam’s traditional values while offering both locals and international visitors an unforgettable cultural journey.
One of the main highlights will be the “Full Moon Night Festival” on October 4 at the Hoi An Park, featuring the vibrant Lion - Dragon Dance alongside stage performances inspired by the Mid-Autumn theme.
Meanwhile, the programme “Music and the Moon” will enchant audiences, especially children, with folk songs, traditional games, and live performances of ethnic instruments, creating a lively cultural exchange.
Visitors can also immerse themselves in “Hoi An Ancient Town by Night,” which recreates daily life and cultural practices of the old town under the soft glow of traditional lanterns.
On October 6, the festival culminates with the spectacular Lantern Parade, starting at 5:30 p.m. through the streets of the old quarter, spreading festive cheer across every corner.
In 2023, Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism recognized the Mid-Autumn Festival of Hoi An as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage, underscoring its enduring value.
The 2025 celebration further highlights Hoi An’s creativity in transforming both tangible and intangible heritage into unique, engaging experiences for modern audiences.
