DNO - Vietnam is redefining how travelers experience coastal destinations after sunset thanks to record-breaking nightly shows in Phu Quoc and the globally acclaimed Da Nang International Fireworks Festival.
According to recent article published on Travel + Leisure, the coastal city of Da Nang has earned its reputation as a global firework destination through the annual Da Nang International Fireworks Festival.
First launched in 2008, the event has evolved from a two-day competition into a multi-week cultural celebration that draws visitors from around the world.
This year’s festival will take place along the Han River under the theme “Da Nang – United Horizons”.
A record 10 international teams, including renowned firework producers from China and Japan, will compete over six nights from May 30 to July 11.
Each evening will feature breathtaking performances where fireworks are choreographed to music in immersive, story-driven displays.
Beyond the festival grounds, Da Nang offers year-round entertainment at Sun World Ba Na Hills.
Famous for the iconic Golden Bridge, this mountaintop resort hosts a wide range of cultural performances, themed attractions and seasonal celebrations.
Meanwhile, on the southern island of Phu Quoc, a remarkable streak of nightly fireworks has become a major attraction for visitors.
Since January 2024, the island has hosted pyrotechnic displays for more than 750 consecutive evenings, creating a milestone that places Phu Quoc among the few destinations in the world offering such consistent nighttime spectacles.
Every evening, visitors gather at Sunset Town, a Mediterranean-inspired coastal complex located on the island’s pristine southwest shore. As darkness falls, the sky above the sea bursts into vibrant colours, drawing crowds to iconic viewing points.
Phu Quoc’s nigh-time tourism experience is further enhanced by two world-class multimedia productions: Symphony of the Sea and Kiss of the Sea which together create a captivating nighttime journey that blends entertainment, technology and storytelling.
The first show, Symphony of the Sea, begins at 7:45 p.m. and runs for around 30 minutes, highlighting 24 international jetski and flyboard champions who execute high-speed choreographed stunts across the water.
Their thrilling maneuvers are synchronized with lasers, lighting effects and fireworks that explode above the bay, creating a dazzling combination of sport and spectacle.
At 9 p.m., audiences are treated to another extraordinary performance, Kiss of the Sea, staged at the Kiss of the Sea Theatre.
The venue itself is a Guinness World Records-certified structure with 5,108 seats, a massive 920-square-meter water screen and three seamless projection domes.
The show merges cutting-edge 3D mapping technology with choreographed fountains, flame effects, lasers and fireworks. Performed by an international cast of 60 artists, the production tells a mythical love story through a dynamic blend of light, music and visual storytelling.
In addition to its nighttime attractions, Phu Quoc continues to impress visitors with its natural beauty and diverse daytime experiences.
Travellers can enjoy water sports, explore nearby islands by boat or dive into crystal-clear waters.
