As reported by the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, accommodation establishments across Da Nang served approximately 91,700 visitors on May 30, representing a 17.5% increase compared to the opening night of DIFF 2025.
International arrivals were estimated at 39,300 visitors, up 16.6% year-on-year, while domestic visitors are projected to reach 52,400, an increase of 18.3%.
The strong influx of travellers has driven hotel occupancy across the city to an estimated 65%, more than eight percentage points higher than the same period last year.
Premium accommodation facilities have performed particularly well, with four- and five-star hotels reporting occupancy rates of around 75%.
The most sought-after locations remain along the Han River and Da Nang’s beachfront areas, where occupancy rates have reached approximately 95%.
Many hotels with riverfront and beachfront views were fully booked days before the festival, with some properties reporting occupancy levels of 98-100%.
Tourists have primarily concentrated in central and coastal wards. Areas near the main fireworks grandstand and launch site have attracted the largest crowds, reflecting the growing appeal of DIFF as one of Vietnam’s leading tourism events.
Air connectivity has also expanded to accommodate increasing travel demand.
On May 29, the Da Nang International Airport handled an estimated 162 domestic and international flights, up 14% compared to the same period in 2025 and 9% higher than the average frequency recorded in May 2026.
The airport received another 161 flights on May 30, maintaining the same growth momentum.
DIFF 2026 is generating substantial benefits for attractions and entertainment venues throughout Da Nang.
Visitor numbers at tourism sites and recreational destinations during the DIFF 2026 opening period have been forecasted to reach more than 145,000, representing a 20% increase compared to last year.
International visitors account for nearly 83,000 of that total, marking an impressive 29% rise year-on-year, while domestic visitation is projected to grow by 10%.
The city’s inland waterway tourism sector also experienced increased demand. Twenty-three licensed tourist boats with a combined capacity of more than 2,500 passengers are operating on the Han River during this period.
The strong performance highlights the growing influence of DIFF 2026 as a major tourism driver, reinforcing Da Nang’s position as one of Asia’s most vibrant destinations for events, entertainment and cultural experiences.
