DNO - The Vietnam National Authority of Tourism has announced that the “Vietnam Travel” mobile application has integrated a feature for booking railway tickets online, further expanding its smart tourism ecosystem and providing travellers with a more convenient way to explore the country.
With this new feature, users can search for train routes, select suitable journeys, and purchase tickets directly within the app without switching to other platforms.
The integration of rail services is expected to improve connectivity between destinations while supporting the growing trend of green, safe, and slow travel experiences.
The Vietnam Travel app was developed as a digital platform serving both domestic and international travellers. It already offers a wide range of services, including destination information, accommodation and restaurant searches, digital maps, hotel reservations, and flight bookings.
The addition of railway ticketing enhances user convenience and contributes to the digital transformation of Vietnam’s tourism industry.
As railway tourism gains popularity thanks to Vietnam’s scenic train routes, the ability to book train tickets through a comprehensive travel app allows travellers to plan itineraries more efficiently and combine transportation and tourism services on a single platform.
According to the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, the new feature aims to improve the overall travellers experience by reducing the time required for ticket purchases and increasing access to rail-based tourism products.
It also represents another step toward the development of smart tourism through the application of digital technologies in tourism promotion, management, and service delivery.
