According to information released by the Vietnam Railway Transport JSC, in late March 2026, the railway sector will launch a promotional program marking the 2nd anniversary of the launch and operation of the “Central Heritage Connection” train (March 26, 2024 - March 26, 2026).

The “Central Heritage Connection” train service was introduced to serve tourists traveling on day trips between two of central Vietnam’s most renowned destinations Hue and Da Nang.
With a travel time of about three hours, the train departs from Hue and takes passengers across Hai Van Pass, known as “the most magnificent pass in the world”, before arriving in Da Nang, home to a coastline recognized as one of the six most beautiful beaches on the planet.
Along the “Central Heritage Connection” route, passengers can admire spectacular natural scenery through the train windows: the Truong Son mountain range stretching on one side and the vast sea on the other.
Notably, during the journey, the train makes a more than 10-minute stop at Lang Co Station, a seaside station where passengers can step off to sightsee and take photos.
Passengers can also enjoy free activities in the community carriage, including reading books, listening to music, watching live performances, and tasting or purchasing local specialties from central Vietnam.
On the return journey from Da Nang to Hue, visitors can explore Hue, the historic land of heritage and Vietnam’s former imperial capital.
Currently, two pairs of “Central Heritage Connection” trains operate daily: HD1/HD2 in the morning and HD3/HD4 in the afternoon
Departing from Hue Station, passenger train HD1 leaves at 7:45 am and arrives at the Da Nang Railway Station at 10:35 am whilst train HD3 departs at 2:25 pm and arrives at 5:40 pm.
