The focus was on heritage and coastal resorts, with Hoi An ancient town and My Son Sanctuary attracting special interest. The Cu Lao Cham Biosphere Reserve also drew attention for its wellness tourism potential.

A key part of the event was a business networking session where Japanese travel companies, investors, and partners met directly with tourism businesses from Quang Nam and Da Nang to explore cooperation and develop tour packages for Japanese tourists.

Vietnam Airlines talked about plans to launch direct flights between major Japanese cities (Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya) and Da Nang International Airport, improving connections and making travel more convenient.

In addition, Vietnam’s 45-day visa exemption for Japanese citizens helps encourage longer visits and flexible travel.

At the event, Van Ba Son, Deputy Director of Quang Nam’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, stated that the occasion was not only about promoting tourism but also about continuing a cultural journey that started over 400 years ago, symbolised by the historic relationship between Princess Ngoc Hoa and merchant Araki Sotaro.

The event also strengthened cooperation between Quang Nam – Da Nang and Nagasaki in tourism, culture, investment, and media. In 2023, Quang Nam welcomed over 28,000 Japanese tourists and about 47,000 in 2024.
