Among the 735 planned industrial clusters, Da Nang leads in the number with 126 industrial clusters, accounting for 17.1% of the total, followed by Thanh Hoa with 115 and Gia Lai with 99.

To date, Da Nang has put 63 industrial clusters into operation, representing 50% of its plan and marking an increase of eight industrial clusters compared to July 1, 2025.

According to Ms. Le Thi Kim Phuong, Director of the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade, the development of industrial clusters is a strategic direction.

In the context of the economy’s strong shift towards green and sustainable growth, industrial clusters have become an important component in the local industrial ecosystem. They serve as a foundation for promoting rural industries and curbing the scattering of production facilities within residential areas, which often leads to environmental pollution.

Ms. Le Thi Kim Phuong stated that the municipal Department of Industry and Trade has been focusing on completing the infrastructure of industrial clusters to serve production as well as has been carrying out the necessary procedures to bring the Cam Le and Hoa Lien industrial clusters into operation.

At the same time, the local authorities are also urging the acceleration of land clearance for the Hoa Khanh Nam industrial cluster to facilitate the selection of investors for the construction of its technical infrastructure, and closely monitoring the investor to expedite the progress of the Hoa Nhon industrial cluster.

Mr. Duong Minh Duc, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Gia Lai Province stressed the necessity for the city to plan industrial clusters with a reasonable area of about 50 - 75 hectares in order to exploit and utilize economies of scale and facilitate the attraction of investors for technical infrastructure development.

He also called for prioritizing specialized, smart, and eco-industrial cluster models, as well as clusters linked to agro-industrial hubs.

Index of Industrial Production targeted to exceed 10% in 2026

According to data compiled by the industry and trade sector in the Central and Central Highlands region, the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) in 2025 recorded double-digit growth in six out of 11 provinces and cities. Notable increases were seen in Nghe An (17.5%), Thanh Hoa (15%), Quang Ngai (12.9%), Hue (13.5%), Dak Lak (12%), and Gia Lai (10%).

Key industries such as mechanical engineering, automobiles, energy, agro-forestry-fisheries processing, building materials, textiles and garments, and electronics continued to make significant contributions to overall growth.

The regional industry and trade sector aims to push the IIP to above 10% in 2026.
