DNO - A delegation from Da Nang City has just participated in the 2026 Vietnam Festival, which was held at Zou-no-hana Park, Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture (Japan), from September 12 to 13, to introduce Hoi An's and Da Nang's tourism and cultural heritage to Japanese residents and visitors.

The Da Nang delegation included representatives from the city’s Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism; the People's Committees of Hoi An, Hoi An Dong, and Hoi An Tay Wards; and the Hoi An World Cultural Heritage Site Management Center.

They took this occasion to promote Da Nang’s tourism at the Vietnam Tourism Seminar, a part of the festival, while providing information and visuals regarding destinations, tourism products, and the cultural heritage values of Hoi An and Da Nang to local residents, tourists, and the Vietnamese community in Kanagawa at the Da Nang booth.

This activity contributes to promoting the image of Da Nang, particularly Hoi An Ancient Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in the Japanese market while expanding the connection and cooperation in the fields of culture, heritage conservation and promotion, tourism, and people-to-people exchange.

Kanagawa is a locality where a large number of Vietnamese people live, work, and maintain exchange programs with Da Nang City. Kanagawa Prefecture has organized the Kanagawa Festival in Da Nang several times, while Hoi An and Da Nang have also participated in the Vietnam Festival in Kanagawa.

In addition, the image of Hoi An has also been regularly showcased in Kanagawa through an exhibition space featuring about 1,000 Hoi An lanterns at Yokohama Bay Quarter, creating a highlight for promoting Hoi An’s culture, heritage, and destination to Japanese people.

The Vietnam Festival in Kanagawa is an annual event hosted by Kanagawa Prefecture in coordination with the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, which began in 2015 at the initiative of Kanagawa Governor Kuroiwa Yuji, aiming to deepen relations with Vietnam and the local Vietnamese community.
