DNO - An exhibition themed “Ethnicity - Belief and Heritage” kicked off in Hoi An Ward, Da Nang on Friday.
Co-organised by the Office of the Government's Standing Agency for Human Rights and the People's Committee of Da Nang, the event showcases hundreds of outstanding photos capturing moments of daily life, festivals, cultural and religious activities of the Vietnamese ethnic communities.
Divided into two parts called “Religion and Belief” and “Ethnic Communities of Vietnam”, each work is a true slice of the country’s rich spiritual life from major religious festivals such as Vesak, Dieu Tri Palace Banquet, Chol Chnam Thmay, and the worship of the Mother Goddess of the Three Realms, to folk rituals, traditional weddings, handicrafts, and folk games of the Tay, Hmong, Khmer, Red Dao, and Xa Phang peoples.
The exhibition aims to honour cultural identity, religious beliefs and nationalities, as well as affirm Vietnam's commitment to protecting human rights.
At the same time, it contributes to promoting the image of the country and people of Vietnam in the context of Vietnam serving as a member of the United Nations Human Rights Council for the 2023 - 2025 term and seeking selection for the 2026 - 2028 term.
