DNO - More than 150 sketches of Hue are on display at the exhibition entitled “The Beauty of Hue Cultural Heritage through Sketch Art” which officially opened at the Da Nang Fine Arts Museum on Thursday.
The event was jointly organized by the Hue Fine Arts Museum and the Da Nang Fine Arts Museum.
Mrs. Dinh Thi Hoai Trai, Director of the Hue Fine Arts Museum, informed that 150 outstanding works on display were selected from a collection of nearly 1,500 sketches of Hue which have been preserved and developed by the museum since 2020.
The collection is the result of the tireless creative journey of many architects, painters, and art lovers from the Ha Noi Urban Sketching Group, along with Hue visual artists, who directly sketched the unique architecture, natural beauty and people of the former imperial capital. It greatly contributes to promoting the value of Hue’s tangible and intangible cultural heritage systems.
With a direct drawing style and sincere emotions, artists depict a Hue that is both close and profound, yet sparkling and fresh. Each sketch is like a story told in the language of strokes and lines, imbued with artist's own mark.
The exhibition lasts until August 22.
Along with the abovementioned exhibition, the Da Nang Fine Arts Museum is hosting performances of traditional Hue 'ao dai' and exciting activities for visitors to learn and experience woodblock printing of the embossed patterns on Hue’s Nine Dynastic Urns and paintings from Hue’s Sinh Village.
