DNO - With its great determination to innovate the method of heritage education, the Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture is working to diversify and enhance the quality of educational programmes, aimed at bringing heritage closer to the younger generation.

Since 2013, the museum has adjusted its educational approach by organizing thematic classes for groups of pupils based on age and teaching content at schools. Examples include the programme "What is your favorite sacred animal?" for primary school pupils aged 6-10, and the programme "Explore with me" for both primary and junior high school pupils.

These programmes are also integrated with a wide range of experiential activities such as woodblock printing, drawing, painting, and quiz games such as lucky number boxes and mysterious pictures.

The purpose of the programmes is to facilitate pupils to come into contact with and learn about Cham sculptures, thereby deepening their understanding of Cham culture, history, and art.

Additionally, the programmes help pupils develop creativity and essential life skills, including independent and group work, presentation, writing, searching and collection of museum artifacts.

Phan Bao Khang, a 6th grader at the Kim Dong Junior High School shared that “Before visiting the Museum of Cham Sculpture, I used to think History was dry and hard to approach. But after seeing national treasures and listening to the stories behind each sculpture, I felt like I was entering a world full of mystery. Some things have not yet been explained by scientists. I was especially impressed with the statue of Shiva - a masterpiece associated with a legendary and enchanting dance”.

In recent years, with strong changes in the application of technology, especially artificial intelligence (AI), the museum is paying attention to using these applications in heritage education, integrating technological "assistants" in exploring heritage at the museum, and supporting "remote" classes for children with disabilities.
