DNO - More than 33,000 cadres, soldiers and residents across Da Nang, along with millions of people nationwide, joined the walking campaign “Marching Forward with Vietnam” on Saturday morning.
The programme was jointly held by the Nhan Dan Newspaper and the Ministry of Public Security to commemorate the 80th anniversaries of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - 2025), National Day (September 2), and the Traditional Day of the People’s Public Security Force (August 19).
It had profound political and social significance, taking place as the country enters a new development phase with the reorganization of administrative units.
In the early morning, about 5,700 Da Nang residents gathered at the East Sea Park in Da Nang to attend the launching ceremony which began at 6:00 am and was synchronised with the flag-raising ceremony at the Ha Noi-based Ba Dinh Square.
With the theme “One Billion Steps into a New Era”, the programme encouraged officers, soldiers, and the public to engage in physical exercise in response to the “All People Exercise Following the Great Uncle Ho’s Example” campaign and the “Fit for Building and Defending the Homeland” programme, thereby promoting healthy lifestyles and reducing carbon emissions for the environment.
