DNO - For the upcoming September 2nd National Day holiday of Vietnam, a series of new activities for visitors to experience Champa culture will be organised at the Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture.
The Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture recently announced the upcoming schedule for its recurring performances of Champa dance and handpan (a steel percussion instrument that is played with the hands).
The art programme of Champa dance, including performances of Apsara dances, traditional Champa instrumental music, and Champa village festival dances, will take place on the mornings of the 15th and 30th of each month.
Each performance will last approximately 30 minutes and take place in the museum's eastern garden. If the weather conditions are unfavorable, the program will be moved to the Themed Exhibition Gallery on the second floor of the museum.
Additionally, for the first time at the museum, visitors can enjoy handpan performances, which offer resonant sounds and a sense of relaxation and tranquility.
This activity takes place from 15:30 to 17:00 on August 30 in the eastern garden and from 15:00 to 16:00 on September 2 inside the museum.
Partnering with the program is "Handpan in Danang," a community connecting handpan enthusiasts in Da Nang, welcoming both Vietnamese locals and international friends who live, work, or are visiting this coastal city.
Notably, free entry will be offered for all visitors to the Da Nang Museum of Champa Sculpture on September 2, 2026, to mark the 81st anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
