South Koreans currently make up the largest foreign community in Da Nang, with an estimated 11,000 people living, working and investing in the central coastal city in recent years.

Their presence is evident across tourism, services, trade, real estate, supporting industries and technology, reflecting both economic dynamism and deepening bilateral ties.

While early South Korean investment was concentrated largely in tourism and hospitality services, many companies have since expanded operations into industrial parks and high-tech zones.

These projects have helped generate employment for local workers, contribute to economic restructuring and enhance the quality of growth.

Beyond business activities, a growing number of South Korean nationals have brought their families to settle long term in Da Nang, participating in cultural, educational and social initiatives, a clear indication of their increasingly strong attachment to the city.

During Lunar New Year, many South Korean families choose to remain in Da Nang, decorating their homes, visiting friends and joining traditional celebrations alongside local residents. Such everyday exchanges have strengthened cultural understanding and community bonds.

A growing number of Indian investors are choosing Da Nang as a base for startups, business expansion and even luxury destination weddings.

The city’s modern infrastructure, reasonable operating costs and safe living environment are frequently cited as key advantages.

These factors, combined with Da Nang’s strategic development vision, have positioned the central coastal city as an appealing destination for emerging international enterprises.

Anil Rajesh, the manager of Maharaja Indian Restaurant in Da Nang said the steady flow of international visitors and the friendliness of local residents create favorable conditions for foreign-owned establishments to thrive.

During Lunar New Year 2026, his restaurant plans to remain open while incorporating traditional Vietnamese decorations. “Da Nang is not only where we do business, but where we choose to build our future,” he said.

Similarly, Nidhi Arora, the owner of The Indian House restaurant chain, noted that opening a branch in Da Nang was driven by a desire to introduce authentic Indian flavors and cultural experiences to local residents and tourists.

During Tet, the sight of foreign residents visiting pagodas, exchanging New Year greetings and joining community festivities adds new dimensions to the city’s social landscape.

The growing Indian presence highlights Da Nang’s successful international integration and reinforces its reputation as a welcoming, dynamic and increasingly global city.
