DNO - The Cardiovascular intervention and surgery team at the Cardiology Department of the Da Nang Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital has saved hundreds of small hearts with congenital defects, including many premature and low birth weight cases.
Since the establishment of the Cardiology Department, the hospital has sent doctors, surgeons, nurses, and technicians to specialized hospitals for training courses on congenital heart surgery and intervention for cardiovascular abnormalities in children.
From 2015 to date, the cardiovascular intervention and surgery team has successfully treated 623 pediatric patients in the Central and Central Highlands regions, including premature and very low birth weight infants.
In addition, the team has applied the newest and most advanced techniques in treatment such as minimally invasive and endoscopic heart surgery, bringing high aesthetics, safety and effectiveness to child patients.
Aside from the continuous improvement of professional qualifications and the application of advanced medical techniques in treatment, the team proactively looks for sponsors to support patients in difficult circumstances.
In particular, for children requiring cardiac interventions or surgeries, the team actively seeks funding sources to cover their treatment costs entirely.
