DNO - As the Lunar New Year approaches, Da Nang is bringing the spirit of traditional Vietnamese Lunar New Yeat (Tet) back to life, offering residents and visitors an immersive cultural experience that blends nostalgia, creativity and festive joy.
In detail, Da Nang will host the cultural programme “Spring of Love 2026”, recreating a traditional Tet space for the public and tourists.
The five-day event will run from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., from February 6 to February 10 at the Bien Dong (East Sea) Park, near the coastal Pham Van Dong-Vo Nguyen Giap intersection.
The opening ceremony, featuring several key activities, is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. on February 6.
“Spring of Love 2026” is designed as a vivid representation of the traditional Vietnamese Lunar New Year, highlighting national cultural identity through rustic materials such as bamboo and rattan, combined with familiar Tet imagery.
The event seeks to revive the springtime ambience of bygone Tet holidays, recalling the warmth and strong sense of community that define traditional celebrations.
A key highlight of the programme is the “Fishing Village Tet” space, which recreates scenes of traditional coastal life during the Lunar New Year.
The setting features steaming pots of “banh chung” and “banh tet”, apricot and peach blossoms, lanterns and carefully curated traditional vignettes, vividly reflecting the customs, daily rhythms and festive spirit of a Vietnamese fishing village at Tet.
Another attraction is the painting exhibition themed “Da Nang - Springtime,” which introduces the city through artistic depictions of well-known landmarks as well as everyday moments of local residents during the Tet holiday, offering visitors a deeper cultural perspective on the city.
Throughout the programme, residents and tourists will be able to take part in a wide range of hands-on Tet experiences, including making “banh chung” and “banh tet”, preparing traditional candied fruits, and sampling Vietnamese cuisine at food stalls featuring classic Tet flavours.
The event will also host a variety of folk games and street art activities, such as bamboo dancing, clay pot smashing, mask painting, artistic portrait drawing, betel leaf folding, “bai choi” folk singing, street music and dance performances.
Special spaces are dedicated to children, offering creative and interactive activities.
Included are Tet costume performances, greeting card making, colouring and painting spring-themed artworks, crafting Tet decorations and interacting with cartoon characters, making “Spring of Love 2026” a festive destination for all generations.
