Da Nang currently has three innovative startups support centers, 12 incubators, three makerspaces, eight co-working spaces, six startup investment funds, ten startup clubs at universities and colleges, and more than 20 institutions and universities actively participating in the ecosystem, with an estimated 200 innovative startups.

Notably, in 2025, Da Nang climbed 130 places to 766th in the StartupBlink rankings, becoming the fastest-growing startup ecosystem in Vietnam.

Between 2022 and 2025, the city has issued nearly 30 important mechanisms and policies, creating a more comprehensive legal framework for innovation.

At the same time, the city has promoted infrastructure investment and provided direct support for businesses, with a total budget of nearly VND 11.5 billion.

It has also expanded international cooperation through innovation spaces and connectivity activities with partners in Singapore, the "Greater Bay Area" (China), Osaka (Japan), Seoul (South Korea), Amsterdam (the Netherlands), and Paris (France). Numerous activities have been organized to connect and call for domestic and international investment capital.

Over the 2026 - 2030 period, Da Nang aims to become an internationally recognized “City of Innovation” and join the group of the world’s top 300 global startup ecosystems.

Additionally, the city will support at least 600 startup projects and form 500 innovative startups, with at least 20% founded by foreign entrepreneurs.

“We expect that Da Nang will have at least one billion-dollar startup ‘unicorn’ by 2030”, said Ms. Dang Le Thu Minh, Head of Technology Development and Innovation Division of the municipal Department of Science and Technology.

To achieve goals set in the project “Da Nang - City of Innovation” by 2030, Mr. Vu Tien Dung, Director of the Fundgo Da Nang Startup and Innovation Fund, underlined the must-do for the city to build a center dedicated to startup investment information and connection.

He also stressed the need to pilot a co-investment mechanism between the city budget and private investment funds to solve legal risks and create prestige for investors and businesses to participate more confidently.

Meanwhile, according to Mr. Luong Van Thuong, Head of the Department of Innovation Startups at the National Agency for Startups and Technology Entrepreneurship under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Da Nang should capitalize on its local strengths to ensure sustainable development resources, particularly in semiconductors and microchips, marine economy and smart logistics, tourism and digital services, green technology, and smart urban development.
