Herbal foot soak service launched at Da Nang’s My Son Sanctuary

DNO - A tour to experience medicinal herb garden and herbal foot soak service was officially launched at the My Son Sanctuary, Thu Bon Commune, Da Nang, on September 25.

This initiative was part of the city’s efforts in introducing some new experiences for visitors in celebration of World Tourism Day (September 27).

The highlight of the program is the introduction of three experience-based product groups centered on forest resources, Cham culture, and traditional crafts at the My Son Sanctuary.

Among them, the “Botanical and Medicinal Herb Garden under the My Son Forest Canopy” tour has been developed along a route from Tower K to Towers E-F.

Along the journey, visitors are introduced to native and medicinal plants associated with the daily life of the Cham people.

Also, they have the opportunity to learn about the special-use forest ecosystem and biodiversity within the heritage site.

At the “Nha Doi” (Twin House) experience area, a space for traditional craft demonstrations and experiences showcases such exciting activities as Cham pottery making, brocade weaving, conical hat making, agarwood processing, and wood and stone carving.

Visitors can not only observe the crafts but also learn about and try some of the production stages under the guidance of artisans.

The site also offers the “Herbal Foot Soak under the Forest Canopy” service, using locally sourced medicinal herbs. The new product adds a relaxing element to visitors’ journeys of exploring My Son.

A Cham musical instrument display and performance space is arranged in the Lotus Pond - Tower H slope area.

Visitors can explore artifacts, musical instruments, traditional costumes, photographs and materials related to Cham culture, as well as enjoy Cham folk songs and performances.

Interactive activities, including trying out musical instruments, wearing Cham traditional costumes and joining activities with folk artisans, are also organized to enhance the experiential aspect of heritage tours.

As part of the launch program, traditional Bai Choi singing performances, and the “Tung Tung Da Da” dance, helped create a space for cultural exchange and showcase the diversity of cultural experiences at the My Son Sanctuary.
