DNO - Nestled along the Thu Bon River, Go Noi has long been known for its agricultural products such as clean vegetables and traditional crops. However, with the recent transformation from a production model to experiential tourism, this land is gradually reshaping its role in the green tourism value chain in Da Nang.

The idea for the tour "Experience Green Go Noi” was initiated by Ms. Nguyen Thi Kieu Anh living in Bao An Village. With the popularity of lemongrass, ginger, cajuput, and cinnamon essential oil products in the market, she realized that many customers want to see with their own eyes the cultivation and processing, and experience the organic farming space, in the Go Noi medicinal herbs area.

Initially, these were just spontaneous visits, but the increasingly clear demand prompted Ms. Kieu Anh to coordinate with the Go Noi Green Agriculture Cooperative to organize a professional green agricultural tour. The purpose of the tour is to connect tourists with the medicinal herb production space and indigenous culture.

During the tour, visitors can visit medicinal herb gardens, observe the essential oil extraction process, experience herbal foot soaks, and try herbal teas and functional foods made from indigenous medicinal herbs.

Not only a simple sightseeing trip, the tour also offers visitors a chance to learn to plant and harvest herbs, as well as make and feel the flavor of their own essential oils. This, thereby, helps them better understanding the role of medicinal herbs and clean agriculture in modern life.

Besides exploring clean agriculture, visitors can get lost in the rustic charm of Bao An Village with ditches, rice fields and bamboo groves. In the evening, they can enjoy folk songs and ‘bai choi’ performances performed by the locals under the glow of oil lamps.

A Canadian tourist shared that when coming to Go Noi, he felt like stepping into a new space unlike other villages in Viet Nam that he has seen. Here, he felt like he was lost in the world of herbs, rustic village culture, and joyful and profound songs”.

According to Mr. Duong Hien Cong, Head of the Culture - Society Department of Go Noi Commune, Go Noi has enough potential to develop tours on experiencing medicinal herbs and link cooperatives with production units and surrounding cultural sites in order to create a complete value chain.

In particular, indigenous people will be trained to become tour guides, storytellers, and keepers of village culture.
