DNO - Vietnam recorded a strong surge in foreign tourist arrivals in October 2025, driven by favourable visa policies, active tourism promotion campaigns and major international events held in the country.
As reported by the General Statistics Office under the Ministry of Finance, Vietnam welcomed 1.73 million international visitors in October, the highest monthly figure on record for the same period in previous years, up 13.8% from September and 22.1% year-on-year.
In the first 10 months of 2025, the country received nearly 17.2 million international arrivals, marking a 21.5% increase over the same period in 2024.
Analysts attribute this growth to expanded visa exemptions, extended stays and intensified marketing efforts in key markets such as South Korea, China, Japan, Europe, and the United States.
Outstandingly, the signing ceremony of the UN Convention against Cybercrime (Ha Noi Convention) in the capital city of Ha Noi on October 25 - 26 also drew hundreds of delegates and contributed to a rise in business and MICE tourism.
Vietnam’s tourism industry aims to attract 22 - 23 million foreign visitors this year, approaching pre-pandemic levels.
To reach this goal, Vietnam would need to welcome an additional 4.7 - 5.7 million tourists in just November and December, equivalent to 2.35 - 2.85 million per month, an unprecedented pace.
Meanwhile, the national government set an ambitious target of at least 25 million international arrivals in 2025 as part of its national growth agenda.
With sustained promotion, improved services, and stronger investment in sustainable tourism, Vietnam is on track to make 2025 a landmark year for international travel.
