DNO - As increasing numbers of visitors flock to Da Nang, the city authorities have stepped up effective measures, including food safety, fire prevention, rescue operations, and emergent situation response to maintain local stability and keep visitors safe.

Since the beginning of the year, a series of major events and festivals have taken place in Da Nang, drawing large crowds of residents and visitors. This places high demands on safety measures, notably food safety.

Mr. Dinh Van Tuan, Head of the city’s Sub-Department of Food Safety, said the department monitored food safety at 13 major political events and festivals while implementing the Da Nang Action Month for Food Safety and Hygiene 2026 from April to May 15th. As a result, no food poisoning cases were reported during these events.
Meanwhile, local authorities at all levels have so far inspected more than 10,000 food production and trading establishments that cater food and beverage services and street food in the city.
In the coming time, the department will step up public communications and training to raise awareness of food safety while strengthening inspections and monitoring of food producers and businesses that cater food services and street food.
Recently, the management unit for the Marble Mountains heritage site worked with the Fire Prevention, Firefighting, and Rescue Police Team No. 3 to conduct a drill plan for joint firefighting and rescue at Parking Lot No. 2. This exercise helped on-site personnel enhance their response skills in emergent situations.
Similarly, the Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourist Beaches Management Board has identified a proactive approach to rescue and emergency response, including preventing incidents, detecting hazards early, responding swiftly, and applying science and technology, particularly in crowded areas.
Accordingly, rescue personnel are deployed based on each area’s characteristics, risk level, and visitor numbers. Alongside, staff, vehicles, and equipment are proactively assigned to beaches with large crowds or potential safety hazards.
The Visitor Support Center, part of the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center, provides tourism information while receiving visitors’ feedbacks and connecting with local relevant agencies to help protect their legal interests. This contributes to building a safe, welcoming, and hospitable tourism environment in the locality.
In the first nine months of 2026, the center assisted 64,890 visitors at its main office, two airport information desks, and its office at 49 Phan Chau Trinh Street. It also handled 3,190 calls to the *8899 hotline, 454 emails, and 2,918 messages from visitors via social media apps.
Working with relevant agencies, the center helped resolve 101 cases involving lost documents, hotel bookings, service prices, visitors getting lost, and drivers’ conduct and attitudes.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai An, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, emphasized that security and safety must be regarded as integral components of destination quality and a fundamental prerequisite for Da Nang tourism’s sustainable development.
She expressed her hope that tourists to the city can enjoy a perfect experience while feeling safe throughout their journey. This serves as the foundation for Da Nang to build an image as a friendly, professional, and sustainable destination.
In the first months of 2026, Da Nang welcomed over 14.2 million overnight visitors, an increase of 24.9% year-on-year. Of this total, international visitors accounted for 6.884 million (up 26.3%), while domestic visitors reached 7.363 million (up 23.6%).
