DNO - From 21 to 26 November, the German Film Festival - KinoFest 2025 is being held for the first time in Da Nang, offering local audiences the chance to experience contemporary German cinema.

KinoFest 2025 celebrates 50 years of Vietnam - Germany diplomatic relations with an expanded nationwide film programme. The line-up spans drama, family films, animation, adventure, and documentaries, showcasing diverse facets of contemporary German life.
In Da Nang, the festival begins at 6:00 p.m. on 21 November with the premiere film “Afire”, which tells the story of Leon and Felix during an emotionally charged summer where friendship, creativity, and desire intertwine under the blazing red skies of a forest fire.
On 22 November, audiences can enjoy the heart-warming animated film “Niko and the Journey to the Northern Lights” at 10:00 a.m., followed by “Greetings from Mars” at 7:00 p.m., which explores themes of family, imagination, and childhood discovery.
The programme on 23 November opens with “Curious Tobi and the Adventure to the Flying Rivers” in the morning and continues in the evening with “Undercurrents”, featuring stories of thrilling adventures and a journey to rediscover trust and hope.
At 7:00 p.m. on the following days, audiences will meet resilient characters in “Heroine” (24/11), explore courage and equality in “The Last Taboo” (25/11), and conclude KinoFest 2025 with the inspiring film “Cologne 75” on 26/11.
The event is organised by the Goethe-Institut in cooperation with the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Da Nang Cultural - Cinematic Centre. All screenings at Le Do Cinema (46 Tran Phu, Hai Chau Ward) are free of charge.
