DNO - Tens of thousands of technology engineers and international experts are relocating to Da Nang, drawn by its balanced lifestyle, high incomes, and preferential policies introduced since early 2026.
Da Nang currently has around 57,000 people working in the information technology (IT) sector, accounting for 8.6% of the city's total workforce.
Notably, the software and digital content segment attracts approximately 22,000 engineers, representing 45% of the city’s total IT workforce, three times higher than the national average of 15%.
Market data shows that the median monthly income for IT professionals at the department head and deputy head levels in Da Nang ranges from VND45 million to VND53.6 million.
Solution architects, big data engineers, AI specialists and chief technology officers can earn VND70 - 100 million a month.
Competitive salaries, combined with a more comfortable pace of life, have made Da Nang an increasingly attractive destination for knowledge workers.
In addition to domestic talent, Da Nang has seen a sharp increase in its international workforce.
In 2024, nearly 30,000 foreigners were living and working in Da Nang, mainly managers employed at hotels and resorts, as well as Asian specialists working in industrial parks.
At the same time, the digital nomad community is expanding rapidly. In 2025 alone, Da Nang recorded more than 7 million foreign temporary residence registrations.
The An Thuong Tourist Quarter and the Son Tra Peninsula have become hubs for thousands of digital professionals whose monthly incomes typically range from US$1,000 to US$3,000. This has pushed studio apartment rents to VND8 -12 million per month, while high-end apartments can command VND20 - 30 million.
Da Nang has also been repeatedly recognized by international publications such as France's Grazia and Forbes in the United States as an ideal place to settle, thanks to its natural landscapes, well-developed healthcare services and open policies.
Compared with Ho Chi Minh City’s workforce of 4.7 million and Ha Noi’s 4 million, Da Nang’s labor force of around 661,500 is more modest in size but has several distinctive advantages.
The UN’s PAPI survey ranks Da Nang third nationwide in terms of its attractiveness as a place to live.
The city’s density of digital technology enterprises stands at 2.3 per 1,000 residents, three times higher than the national average.
Particularly in the semiconductors industry, Da Nang has attracted 10 renowned chip-design corporations, including Synopsys, Uniquify, Savarti, Renesas, FPT Semiconductor and Viettel CNC.
Notably, Da Nang has introduced breakthrough support mechanisms, including a VND900 billion budget package to pay technology experts, as well as a pilot scheme offering a 50% reduction in personal income tax and temporary residence cards for experts working in the Free Trade Zone.
The combination of a high quality of life, reasonable living costs and open policies is gradually turning Da Nang into a new technology and innovation hub for the country, drawing skilled professionals to the city.
