DIFF 2026 officially opens under the Theme “Danang - United Horizons”

In attendance at the opening ceremony of DIFF 2026 were international guests, including Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Vietnam Ito Naoko, along with representatives from the Consulates General of China, Russia, Japan and South Korea in Da Nang.

Representing the city were senior leaders, including Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee Le Ngoc Quang, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Vinh, Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Council Nguyen Duc Dung and Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Nguyen Manh Hung.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Nguyen Manh Hung highlighted that Da Nang is entering a vibrant summer season filled with a wide range of economic, cultural, sports and tourism events at both national and international levels.

These activities are expected to welcome visitors, partners and friends from around the world to this coastal Vietnamese city.

In its efforts to become an increasingly attractive destination for tourists and investors, Da Nang has embarked on a new development journey aimed at building a modern city with a distinctive identity, a humane and dynamic community and a high quality of life for its residents.

The opening of DIFF 2026 not only signals the start of a spectacular fireworks season but also reflects Da Nang’s ambition to strengthen its position as a leading destination for international events, cultural exchange and tourism in the region.

Under the theme “Da Nang – United Horizons”, this year’s festival is expected to serve as a platform connecting cultures, fostering friendship and showcasing the city’s openness, creativity and aspirations for sustainable development.

This recognition reflects the international community’s appreciation of the festival’s appeal, scale, artistic excellence and far-reaching influence as a signature event of Vietnam.

With the theme ‘Danang – United Horizons,’ DIFF 2026 embodies the city’s vision of being a dynamic destination that connects cultures, tourism, creativity and international cooperation.

The festival’s six competition nights will serve as six chapters telling the story of Da Nang’s connection with the world through the themes of Nature, Heritage, Culture,Creativity, Vision, and Da Nang - United Horizons.

Throughout its development journey, Da Nang has consistently received valuable support, cooperation and companionship from the central government, local authorities, and partners both at home and abroad.

This strong backing has been a vital driving force enabling the city to turn its development aspirations and strategic goals into reality.

To recognize and celebrate the efforts of the two competing teams in the opening night themed “Nature”, Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, the Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People’s Committee and Head of the DIFF 2026 Organizing Committee, presented commemorative medals to the fireworks teams Da Nang (Vietnam) and China.
