Daegu Technology and Innovation Showcase Space in Da Nang

As part of the Da Nang Innovation Startup Festival (SURF 2026), the launching of the space opens up opportunities for business communities of Daegu (the Republic of Korea, RoK) and Da Nang to further expand their connection and cooperation.

Attending the launch ceremony were Vice Chairman of the Da Nang municipal People's Committee Ho Quang Buu; Consul General of RoK in Da Nang Han Jungil; and representatives from agencies, organisations, and businesses in Daegu and Da Nang cities.

The space is designed to showcase typical products, solutions, and technologies developed by leading businesses in Daegu and Da Nang's innovation startup ecosystem.

The idea for the space emerged from collaborative activities between the two localities during a business trip by the city’s delegation to attend the FIX 2025 International Exhibition in RoK in October 2025.

In his opening speech, Vice Chairman Ho Quang Buu expressed his hope that the Daegu Technology and Innovation Showcase Space would serve not merely as space for product displays but also as a “meeting point” for new technology, ideas, and business opportunities from Vietnam and RoK.

Via this initiative, businesses from both sides can identify their potential partners. Universities and research institutes in these localities can explore avenues for collaboration, while Daegu and Da Nang startups can access to markets and investors can access new projects.

Mr. Buu asked the space to focus on concrete cooperation programs in various fields that Da Nang and Daegu have a mutual interest in, such as artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, digital technology, smart cities, smart manufacturing, digital transformation, and green technology.

Both sides will rapidly shift their focus from a "technology showcase" to "connection and collaboration” and "creating specific products and projects" to generate practical value and effective applications that benefit both the public and businesses.

Vice Chairman Ho Quang Buu pledged that Da Nang would continue to improve its investment climate, refine its innovation ecosystem and create the most favourable conditions for RoK's enterprises, organisations, and partners to explore the market and engage in research and development in the city.

Also at the event, several businesses from Da Nang and Daegu signed Memoranda of Understanding on product development, market expansion, investment attraction and the implementation of innovation projects.
