DNO - The Le Quy Don Senior High School for the Gifted held a welcome ceremony at Da Nang International Airport on Monday for 12th grader Phan Dinh Triet upon his return from the 3rd International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI) 2026.

The third edition of the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI) 2026 was held from August 2 - 8 in Astana, Kazakhstan.
This year's competition attracted 108 teams from various countries and territories, with 471 students competing in the individual AI programming category.
In the end, the organizers awarded a total of 37 gold, 73 silver and 110 bronze medals.
Vietnam’s national team won seven medals in total at the competition, including two gold, one silver and four bronze medals.
Phan Dinh Triet, a 12th-grade student at the Da Nang-based Le Quy Don Senior High School for the Gifted, was among the four Vietnamese students who won bronze medals at the competition.
Notably, 2026 marked the first year that Vietnam's Ministry of Education and Training organized a national selection process for the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence.
A total of 1,188 students from 34 provinces and cities took part in the first qualifying round, with 246 students advancing to the second round.
Finally, eight outstanding members were selected to represent Vietnam at the international competition.
