DNO - With many dynamic and creative approaches, the Da Nang Traditional Medicine Hospital has made significant strides, bringing practical benefits to locals and people across Central and Central Highlands regions.
Recent years have witnessed a surge in the demand for treatment using traditional medicine, especially for chronic diseases such as musculoskeletal system, stroke and hemorrhoids.
The number of patient visits to the hospital has increased steadily over the years from more than 14,600 in 2021 to nearly 24,000 in 2024.
To meet the growing demand, the hospital has focused on upgrading spacious facilities and investing in modern equipment. The purpose is to create a solid foundation for expanding the scale and implementing many new techniques that combine traditional medicine with modern medical practices.
The highlight has been the introduction of many advanced methods harmoniously combining traditional medicine with modern techniques.
Special methods such as acupuncture, thread implantation, pyrotherapy and acupressure massage are combined with modern techniques such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections, intra-articular injections, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, gastrointestinal endoscopy, and hemorrhoid surgery. This integration has significantly enhanced treatment outcomes.
Not only improving techniques, the hospital has paid attention to developing medicinal herbs - a core element of traditional medicine.
In 2022, a model medicinal herb garden with more than 80 species of plants was put into operation, both serving treatment and being a lively "practice room" for medical students and patients.
Based on these achievements, the hospital has expanded into new directions associated with social needs. In particular, in 2023, it launched the Medical Tourism Unit, attracting hundreds of international patients and tourists.
Here, visitors can experience unique traditional medicine methods such as acupuncture, acupressure massage, pyrotherapy and thread implantation in combination with relaxation activities.
This model not only supports health recovery but also promotes Vietnamese traditional medicine to international audiences, opening new opportunities for sustainable growth in healthcare linked with tourism.
At the same time, the hospital has maintained many spiritual therapy activities such as "Therapy Garden", "Cooking Together" and "Music Exchange Program of Traditional Medicine Physicians' Love", aimed at fostering optimism and motivation for patients throughout their treatment journey.
With the achieved results, the Da Nang Traditional Medicine Hospital is gradually affirming its role in the local healthcare system. Also, it becomes a trusted address for the people and a bright spot in preserving and promoting the value of traditional medicine.
Recently, the hospital has been honored with the Emulation Flag of the Government and the Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister.
