Da Nang tops Vietnamese traveller's searches for their double holiday

This year’s April travel season includes two significant holidays: the Hung Kings Commemoration Day, which takes place from April 25 to 27, and a four-day break from April 30 to May 3 for Reunification Day and International Workers' Day.

With just a few days in between, the two breaks create a unique extended “holiday combo”, providing up to nine consecutive days for travel.

This extended period presents an ideal opportunity for Vietnamese travellers to plan both domestic and international trips without taking excessive leave from work.

Booking.com data shows that 33% of Vietnamese travellers plan to take more short domestic trips in 2026, while 22% are opting for longer international journeys compared to the previous year, highlighting a growing demand for well-planned, meaningful travel experiences.

Coastal destinations remain the top choice for the “double holiday”. Alongside Da Nang, other popular beach locations, such as Nha Trang, Vung Tau, Phu Quoc, and Mui Ne, are the destinations most searched by Vietnamese travellers to enjoy the early summer coastal atmosphere.

For those looking to escape the heat, Da Lat remains a preferred destination thanks to its cool, year-round climate.

Meanwhile, interest in heritage and cultural destinations remains steady. Hue, Hoi An, and Hanoi continue to rank among the most searched locations, reflecting a sustained trend toward exploring historical sites and traditional urban spaces.

According to Branavan Aruljothi, Country Director of Booking.com in Vietnam, April’s search data indicates that travellers are becoming increasingly strategic and intentional in planning their trips, seeking authentic and personalised experiences that align closely with their expectations.
