The Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam - Germany Friendship Association in the city, in coordination with Thuan Nhi One Member Limited Liability Company, will organize “Oktoberfest - The Heritage Train to Munich 2026” beer festival.

The event aims to celebrate the 51st anniversary of Vietnam - Germany diplomatic relations and the 15th anniversary of their strategic partnership.

The annual event provides an opportunity for Vietnamese people who once lived, worked or studied in Germany to reunite and share memories with German friends.

It also helps strengthen people-to-people exchanges and foster friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

The festival is highly expected to help stimulate tourism demand and promote Da Nang as a city of events and festivals, as well as a safe, attractive and welcoming destination for domestic and international visitors.

Previous editions of the German beer and cultural and culinary exchange program were held in 2019, 2023, 2024 and 2025, attracting large numbers of local residents and international guests.

The 2026 event will be the fifth edition, with organizers planning a large-scale program. The festival will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. each night from October 22 to 24 at 83 - 85 - 87 Tran Phu Street in Hai Chau Ward, Da Nang.

The opening ceremony is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on October 22, while the closing ceremony will take place at 11 p.m. on October 24.

Highlights will include the traditional keg-tapping ceremony, German beer and an extensive selection of European and Asian cuisine.

Visitors can enjoy a Vietnamese - German traditional costume showcase titled “Colors of Vietnam and Germany”, activities inspired by Bavaria’s festive atmosphere and a German beer competition.

A lucky draw and a cultural performance program themed “Vietnam and Germany Moving Forward Together: Integration and Development” will add to the celebrations.

The event will feature numerous well-known Vietnamese and international singers and musicians.

Through its blend of food, music and cultural activities, the festival aims to create opportunities for cross-cultural engagement while strengthening the longstanding friendship between Vietnam and Germany.

The Vietnam - Germany relations continue to deepen, with cooperation expanding across a wide range of fields. Germany is one of Vietnam’s key partners in Europe, its largest trading partner in the European Union (EU) and one of the EU’s largest investors in Vietnam.

Da Nang has stepped up diplomatic engagement and efforts to promote trade, investment and cooperation with German partners.

The central city regularly welcomes German business delegations seeking to explore its investment environment. Meanwhile, municipal leaders and business representatives have also traveled to Germany to promote investment and strengthen links in tourism, trade and other sectors.

To date, approximately 24 German-invested foreign direct investment (FDI) projects have been recorded in Da Nang, with total registered capital of around US$233.3 million.

These projects are concentrated mainly in manufacturing and processing, automotive component production, plastics, textiles and software services.
