Da Nang student shines at European Physics Olympiad 2025

Cap Kim Hoang Bao from Da Nang wins bronze at the European Physics Olympiad 2025, showcasing Vietnam’s growing presence in international science contests.

Competing against 40 teams from 28 European nations and 12 invited countries, Bao, 17, from the Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted in Da Nang, stood out as one of Asia’s promising young physicists.

At a ceremony held on Tuesday, July 22, the Da Nang People’s Committee honoured Bao and teachers who guided him throughout his preparation.

Speaking the event, Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi praised Bao’s hard work and resilience, calling his success “a symbol of Da Nang’s spirit of learning and a reflection of Vietnam’s rising academic reputation worldwide.”

Bao’s journey to international acclaim is the result of tireless personal effort, the dedication of his teachers, the support of his school and family, and a city committed to investing in education. His story resonates with countless students across Vietnam who are driven by curiosity, grit and a passion for discovery.

The 2024 - 2025 academic year has seen significant achievements from Da Nang’s education sector. Students have claimed top awards at national contests and major international competitions, including science fairs and Olympiads.
