Google I/O Extended MienTrung 2025 gathered over 700 young tech minds in Da Nang, celebrating a decade of innovation, passion and the growth of a dynamic developer community in Central Vietnam.
Launched in 2014 by Nguyen Thi Phuong Nhi, a key connector of Google’s developer communities in Viet Nam and other countries in Southeast Asia, the Central Vietnam chapter of Google Developer Groups (GDG) was born from a simple yet powerful idea: to create a platform where young coders could connect and innovate.
“Back then, Da Nang had talent, but lacked a space to nurture it. GDG was the seed that helped tech dreams take root,” she shared.
Since then, the community has hosted more than 60 events, evolving into a dynamic network where students, developers, and tech professionals exchange ideas, learn emerging technologies and stay ahead of digital trends.
For many, like Nguyen Minh Dung, now a software engineer at VTVCab, GDG was more than just a learning space. “It shaped my mindset, built my soft skills and connected me with top minds in the field,” he said.
First-time attendee Le Van Bao Huy, a data science student, shared his goals: “To gain real-world insights from tech experts, network with like-minded peers and find inspiration for my future career”.
Looking ahead, Google is set to bring more initiatives to Da Nang, including the Google for Startups AI Solutions Lab, empowering AI-driven startups in the region.
After a decade of growth, Google I/O Extended MienTrung remains more than an event, it’s a movement, igniting passion and paving the way for the next generation of Vietnamese tech innovators.
