DNO - The People’s Committee of Da Nang and the administration of South Korea’s Pyeongtaek City signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest on Monday.
The MoU was signed under the witness of Party General Secretary To Lam during his ongoing state visit to South Korea.
Under the agreement, Da Nang and Pyeongtaek will promote bilateral cooperation in the Free Trade Zone model, and science and technology with a focus on semiconductor and artificial intelligence (AI).
Da Nang and Pyeongtaek share many similarities in their development orientation. Therefore, in early April 2025, the localities signed an agreement to establish friendly and cooperative relations.
Accordingly, the two sides agreed to enhance diverse exchange and cooperation activities in such economic fields as semiconductor, high technology, clean energy, logistics and seaports, along with education, culture, sports and labor.
Previously, in 2022, the People's Committee of Tam Ky City in former Quang Nam Province and the government of Pyeongtaek established a friendly and cooperative relationship.
Building on the existing friendly and cooperative relationship, this MoU aims to strengthen cooperation between Da Nang (new) and Pyeongtaek City, particularly in areas of mutual interest, on the principle of equality and mutual benefit.
