DNO - Due to the growing number of Muslim visitors to Da Nang, the local tourism industry is actively expanding and upgrading its food services in order to meet the needs and standards of this market segment.

In 2025, Da Nang remains a favorite destination for travelers from several countries with large Muslim populations such as India, Malaysia, the UAE, Singapore, and Indonesia. This positive sign demonstrates the continued attractiveness of the city’s beach and resort tourism among Muslim tourists.
Identifying the Middle East, South Asia, and the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) as high-potential markets with stable growth rates, Da Nang's tourism sector is actively expanding international air routes to these regions as well as promoting research into specific cultural and religious characteristics to improve service quality.
Halal tourism is understood as tourism that is friendly and appropriate for Muslim travelers, ensuring that services meet the specific requirements of Islamic practices.
According to the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, almost all Muslim tourists strictly adhere to Halal regulations.
Specifically, food must be properly certified, with an absolute prohibition on pork and related products, alcohol, or ingredients of unclear origin. Also, animals must be slaughtered according to Islamic rules. For certain groups such as Shia followers, the rules are even stricter, including avoidance of specific types of seafood. Beyond ingredients, Muslim travelers place strong emphasis on cleanliness and purity.
Da Nang is now home to over 800 food and beverage establishments friendly to Muslim visitors. These include approximately 40 Halal/Indian restaurants specifically for Muslim guests, over 10 establishments certified for Halal cuisine, more than 100 vegetarian restaurants, and over 500 seafood restaurants offering menus and service styles suitable for Muslim travelers.
Notably, several venues hold reputable Halal certifications, such as Sun World Ba Na Hills and Halal Indrapura.
As an establishment that regularly serves guests from the Halal market, the Furama Resort Da Nang boasts a dedicated Halal kitchen overseen by an Indian chef, along with a staff certified by HalalTrip Vietnam.
In 2025, the Furama - Ariyana complex has welcomed over 5,000 guests from India, the CIS, and Malaysia. The satisfaction rate regarding service, especially cuisine, is very high thanks to the resort’s ability to meet stringent Halal food standards and overall service quality.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Quynh, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang Tourism Association, highlights that the Halal market offers opportunities for sustainable growth and helps Da Nang balance its tourism market and reduce dependence on traditional markets. This is also a high-spending segment, with longer stays and strong demand for premium services.
In the future, Da Nang aims to position itself as a “Halal-friendly destination” in central Vietnam, . This includes developing a chain of internationally certified Halal hotels, restaurants, and services, as well as establishing a Hue - Da Nang - Hoi An Halal Tourism Corridor.
