At the meeting, Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Anh Thi welcomed the JAK delegation and emphasised the important role of the media in promoting Da Nang’s image and strengthening international understanding and cooperation. She also briefed the delegation on the city’s development, highlighting its strong socio-economic growth and progress in journalism, communications, and external information activities.

The city is currently home to nearly 100 media organisations, including local news agencies as well as representative and resident offices of central-level media outlets.

During the first six months of 2026, Da Nang facilitated reporting activities for 13 foreign media delegations comprising 118 journalists, helping promote Vietnam’s culture, tourism, people and development achievements to international audiences.

The city has also established cooperative ties with 10 localities in the Republic of Korea (RoK) in areas such as tourism, education, cultural exchange, green transportation and smart city development.

RoK remains one of Da Nang’s key partners in investment, trade and tourism. The city is home to 345 Korean-invested projects with a total registered capital of approximately USD1.33 billion, ranking fourth among foreign investors in Da Nang.

RoK is also the city’s largest international visitor market, with more than 1.2 million arrivals in 2025, accounting for about 25% of total international visitors.

Highlighting the media’s role in fostering people-to-people exchanges, Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Anh Thi expressed her hope that the JAK would continue supporting efforts to promote Da Nang to the Korean public.

The two sides agreed to enhance exchanges between media organisations and cooperate in organising communication programmes, fam trips and press tours for Korean journalists.

Da Nang also expressed its desire to expand cooperation in training journalism professionals, particularly in data journalism, artificial intelligence, digital content production and international communications.

KJA President Park Jong Hyun thanked the city for the warm reception and praised Da Nang’s dynamic development. He affirmed that the JAK would continue promoting professional exchanges and cooperation to strengthen friendship and mutual understanding between the two countries.
