DNO - Da Nang’s FDI inflows increased 75% in the first seven months of 2026, driving continued economic growth across key sectors.

The latest socio-economic data indicates Da Nang remains one of Vietnam's fastest-growing economic hubs, an attractive destination for tourists near and far.

Foreign investment surges

Foreign direct investment remained one of the brightest spots in the city's economic landscape.

Da Nang attracted USD 44.75 million in newly registered FDI during July, bringing total FDI inflows in the first seven months of 2026 to USD 402.79 million. This was a remarkable 75% increase compared with the corresponding period in 2025.

As of July 2026, the city was home to 1,151 active FDI projects with a combined registered capital exceeding USD 10.94 billion, reinforcing investor confidence in Da Nang's long-term growth prospects.

Business activity also demonstrated significant improvement. Between January and July, 4,278 enterprises and affiliated business units entered the market, representing a 23.78% increase in the number of newly established entities.

Total registered capital exceeded VND 24.28 trillion, up 69.79% year-on-year, indicating stronger investment sentiment and expanding private-sector participation in the local economy.

Tourism remains main growth driver

Tourism continued to be the strongest contributor to Da Nang's economic expansion.

Accommodation establishments served nearly 2.23 million visitors in July, representing a 12.2% increase from the previous month and a 29.9% year-on-year rise.

International arrivals reached 852,600, up 5% month-on-month and 25.3% compared with July 2025, while domestic visitors exceeded 1.377 million, increasing 17.2% from June and 33% year-on-year.

During the first seven months of 2026, Da Nang welcomed an estimated 12.108 million visitors, up 24.8% from the same period last year. International visitors accounted for approximately 6.009 million, an increase of 28.1%, while domestic arrivals reached nearly 6.1 million, rising 21.7% year-on-year.

The city's accommodation and food service sector generated VND 7.405 trillion in revenue during July, reflecting strong consumer spending and sustained tourism demand.

The travel agency sector also maintained healthy growth. Revenue from travel services, excluding reimbursed expenses, was estimated at VND 627 billion in July, up 8.8% from the previous month and 26.6% year-on-year.

For the January - July period, travel service revenue reached approximately VND 2.992 trillion, accounting for 1.7% of Da Nang's total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue, representing a 14% increase over the same period in 2025.

Tour-based tourism remained resilient, with an estimated 933,900 package-tour visitors during the first seven months of the year, an increase of 7.8% year-on-year.

This included 356,600 international visitors (up 7.6%), 502,800 domestic travelers (up 5.8%), and 74,500 Vietnamese outbound tourists, rising 24.1% compared with the previous year.

Industrial output strengthen

Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in July were estimated at VND 28.638 trillion, representing a 29.7% increase compared with July 2025.

Industrial activity also witnessed steady expansion. Da Nang's Industrial Production Index (IIP) increased 10.1% year-on-year, reflecting stronger manufacturing performance and improving production capacity across key industries.

Meanwhile, the total import-export turnover reached nearly USD 905 million in July, marking a 7.9% increase from the same period last year and highlighting stable external trade performance.

The above-mentioned figures underscore the continued strength of Da Nang economy development in 2026.

The city is consolidating its position as one of Vietnam's leading economic and tourism hubs, Da Nang is expected to maintain solid growth momentum throughout the remainder of 2026 while strengthening its role as a strategic gateway for trade, investment and tourism in Central Vietnam.
