DNO - Relevant departments, agencies and units in Da Nang are racing to finalize preparatory works for the 25th International Mathematics Competition in Vietnam (VIMC 2025), aimed at leaving a good impression on international friends.
VIMC 2025 will take place in Da Nang from August 14 - 19, featuring the participation of 526 contestants, 181 teachers and 100 international guests from 31 countries and territories.
2025 marks the first time the prestigious International Mathematics Competition (IMC) will be held in Da Nang. Therefore, all organizational aspects have been meticulously reviewed and prepared by the city in order to leave a good impression on participants and visitors from around the world.
Following the guidance of the municipal People’s Committee, relevant departments, agencies and units have been urgently implementing preparatory tasks in recent days to ensure the success of the event.
The Viet Nam - Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU) will serve as the venue for most of the competition’s main activities. It has mobilized human and material resources to set up stages, hang banners and signs, prepare examination rooms, arrange tables and chairs, and carry out other related tasks.
Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho, Vice Rector of VKU, informed that the university has coordinated with the municipal Department of Education and Training and the International Mathematical Committee (IMC) to organize intensive training for invigilators and graders to ensure the competition is organized smoothly.
In addition, around 100 volunteer students have been mobilized and trained about communication, foreign language, and service skills to support international delegations at the airport and in all activities of the competition.
In particular, the preparation of facilities at the university has been completed. The opening and closing ceremonies of the competition will be held at a hall with a capacity of about 1,500 people, equipped with professional sound and lighting systems.
Meanwhile, classrooms and exam rooms have been equipped with air conditioning, lighting, and standard tables and chairs. The internet system and information technology infrastructure have been checked and upgraded to ensure smooth connection.
VKU has also prepared nearly 200 dormitory rooms for contestants. At the same time, functional rooms, resting areas, the library, and the canteen have been cleaned and ready to serve contestants, parents, and international judges.
