Following the recent administrative merger with Quang Nam, the new Da Nang is now home to 565 relics, including 6 special national relics, 84 national relics and 475 municipal relics.

In addition, there are the Cham Islands-Hoi An World Biosphere Reserve, 28 national intangible cultural heritages, one UNESCO-recognized intangible cultural heritage of humanity, and one UNESCO-recognized documentary heritage for the Asia-Pacific region. All have great potential for tourism development.

In particular, the two UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Sanctuary play a vital role as the nucleus to spread to other cultural heritages in the city.

Since July 1, a series of programmes to connect businesses, and stimulate tourism have been implemented by the city, especially the launch of the "Da Nang Heritage Passport" on August 15.

Accordingly, the passport links cultural sites and historical relics across the city, encouraging visitors to explore more destinations.

Tourists receive stamps at each site, and upon collecting enough, they can redeem vouchers or enjoy incentives such as discounted or free entry tickets, online payment promotions, transportation deals, or special gifts.

Notably, the Hoi An Ancient Town and the My Son Sanctuary play an important role in bringing extremely unique experiences to visitors.

Moreover, intangible cultural heritage such as ‘bai choi’, documentary heritage and special national relics are included in the heritage passport journey.

The Management Board of the My Son Sanctuary and the Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture are developing a cooperation plan to attract tourists to both sites.

Accordingly, aside from supporting each other's image introduction at each location, the two units will also launch a "combo ticket" package with preferential prices for visitors at each destination.

Specifically, visitors who present a ticket stub from My Son will receive a discount at the Museum of Cham Sculpture and vice versa.

“This cooperation not only increases the opportunity for exchange of visitors between the two sites but also helps tourists better understand the cultural values of Champa because the My Son Sanctuary and the Museum of Cham Sculpture have a close relationship in terms of artifacts as well as cultural and historical values” according to Ms. Le Thi Thu Trang, Director of the Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture.
