DNO - Da Nang should clearly position itself as a regional destination for culture, sports, and tourism, thereby building distinctive, high-impact products, programs, and events with international reach.
Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet made the remarks at the recent meeting with the city’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
According to a report at the meeting, in the first half of 2025, tourism played a vital role in driving Da Nang’s socio-economic growth. The city welcomed more than 8.6 million visitors, up 16% year-on-year, including an estimated 3.7 million international arrivals, marking a 25% increase. Revenue from accommodation, food services, and travel reached more than VND 18.3 trillion, a 23% rise compared to the same period in 2024.
Several key infrastructure projects were completed, including the upgrade of the Hoa Xuan football pitch, the Trung Vuong Theater, and public restrooms along Hoang Sa - Vo Nguyen Giap - Truong Sa coastal route.
In addition, many large-scale events such as the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2025, the Da Nang Asian Film Festival 2025, the Asian Golf Tourism Convention - AGTC 2025, and the Hoi An International Choir Competition 2025, plus art and cultural festivals, created a strong ripple effect and attracted the attention of the public.
Currently, Da Nang has two UNESCO World Heritage Sites, a heritage listed in UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, 28 intangible cultural heritages on the National List, 4 special national relics, 84 national relics, 475 city-level relics and 19 national treasures.
