DNO - The reopening of the Da Nang-Lam Dong air route from August 19, 2026 is expected to create new momentum for tourism development and strengthen connectivity between Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands.

As announced by national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines, the route will resume operations via the Lien Khuong International Airport in the Central Highlands Province of Lam Dong, home to the famous destination of Da Lat, once the airport’s reopening receives official approval from the competent authorities.
Together with the Ha Noi-Lam Dong and Ho Chi Minh City-Lam Dong services, the Da Nang-Lam Dong route will operate one daily round-trip flight using Airbus A321 aircraft.
In total, Vietnam Airlines plans to operate six round-trip flights per day connecting Lam Dong with the country’s major economic and tourism centers.
The restoration of the route is seen as an important catalyst for tourism cooperation between Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands.
Da Nang continues to strengthen its position as a leading destination for leisure, events and MICE tourism, supported by modern infrastructure and internationally recognized festivals.
Meanwhile, Lam Dong offers a distinctive appeal with its mild climate, scenic landscapes, diverse eco-tourism and wellness experiences.
The resumed service will provide travellers from the Central Highlands with easier access to Da Nang’s beach tourism, entertainment complexes, luxury resorts and convention facilities.
At the same time, it is expected to create opportunities for travel companies to develop interregional tourism products linking Da Nang, Lam Dong, and the wider Central Highlands, thereby diversifying tourism offerings and encouraging longer visitor stays.
According to tourism operators, rising demand for domestic travel, particularly for nature-based and cool-climate destinations like Da Lat, is creating favourable conditions for stronger regional cooperation.
The restoration of flights to the Lien Khuong Airport is expected not only to support Lam Dong’s tourism recovery but also to enhance connectivity between the Central Highlands and Central Vietnam, thereby contributing to sustainable tourism development.
Vietnam Airlines has fully prepared operational resources and services to resume flights immediately once the Lien Khuong International Airport officially reopens.
To mark the resumption of air services to Lam Dong, the airline plans to offer promotional fares across its network. The lowest one-way fare, inclusive of taxes and fees, is expected to start from just over VND1 million (US$38) on selected routes.
