DNO - Da Nang is turning into Asia’s vibrant sports hub this week as the The Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) Tour Asia - MB Vietnam Cup 2025 pairs with the Vietnam Sports Festival, delivering world-class competition and dynamic fan experiences.
The international tournament has brought top pickleball athletes from around the globe, while the accompanying Vietnam Sports Festival features hundreds of booths from domestic and international brands.
Exhibitors showcase the latest in sports apparel, specialized equipment, fitness devices and digital training technologies, offering visitors a look into the future of sports and recreation.
Nguyen Van Nguyen, a visitor from Nghe An Province, said: “The variety of products is impressive. Both professional athletes and casual players will find plenty of options. Touring the exhibition was truly exciting.”
For Pham Van Bang from Hung Yen Province, the blend of world-class matches and the festival made the trip worthwhile. “Seeing major brands in one place gave me a complete experience. Watching the pickleball games while exploring the booths turned this visit into a highlight of my Da Nang trip,” he said.
Alongside shopping and displays, the Vietnam Sports Festival emphasizes interactive engagement. Spectators can test their skills in pickleball, tennis, badminton, basketball, and fitness games enhanced with digital applications.
The lively atmosphere has transformed the championship into more than just a sports event, it’s a festival blending competition, community, tourism and commerce.
Nguyen Hong Canh, a local spectator, said: “I not only enjoyed the thrilling matches but also tried playing pickleball myself and received gifts from exhibitors. It was a fun and memorable experience. I hope Da Nang continues to host international tournaments like this.”
By aligning the PPA Tour Asia with the Vietnam Sports Festival, Da Nang is positioning itself as a dynamic, friendly and innovative destination. The event highlights the city’s potential to attract global audiences, strengthen business connections and promote sports tourism on an international scale.
PPA Tour Asia - MB Vietnam Cup 2025 is running until October 4. Matches are held at both Tien Son Sports Arena and Tuyen Son Sports Village, with competitions in men’s and women’s singles, men’s and women’s doubles, and mixed doubles across various age groups and skill levels.
The tournament attracts some of the world’s top players, including legendary Ben Johns, who has won over 150 PPA Tour titles. Other notable participants are Federico Staksrud, Anna Bright, Tyson McGuffin, Tyra Hurricane Black, Kaitlyn Christian, and Alix Truong.
