In his opening remarks, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Phan Thai Binh highlighted Da Nang’s strategic position, giving the city the ability to connect multiple important economic and trade spaces simultaneously.

In particular, along the north-south axis, Da Nang is situated within Vietnam’s coastal economic, industrial and maritime zone. This enables the city to connect with major domestic production, consumption and logistics centers as well as link to international trade routes through the East Sea, especially markets in Northeast and Southeast Asia.

Meanwhile, along the east-west axis, Da Nang serves as the eastern gateway to the East-West Economic Corridor, connecting Vietnam with Laos, Thailand and Myanmar.

In terms of connectivity from the mainland to the sea, Da Nang enjoys advantages in international maritime access, with its seaport system and plans to develop Lien Chieu Port.

These provide opportunities to enhance the city’s capacity for cargo handling, transshipment and distribution, as well as the provision of high value-added logistics services.

All three aforementioned connectivity dimensions create Da Nang’s distinctive advantages and provide a foundation for the city to develop into an integrated, multimodal logistics hub, and an international trade gateway.

Vice Chairman Binh noted that Da Nang’s goal was not simply to bring goods to the city, but more importantly, to enable goods from Da Nang and the central region to reach international markets faster, farther and more efficiently.

Through this approach, the city aims to transform itself from a central logistics hub into a key link in the Indo-Pacific supply chain network, effectively connecting markets in Northeast and Southeast Asia with South Asia, the Middle East and Europe.

Mr. Tran Thanh Hai, Deputy Director General of the Import-Export Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said Da Nang possessed all the necessary conditions to become a new growth pole, backed by outstanding advantages.

He expected that the Da Nang International Logistics Forum 2026 will open up opportunities for concrete cooperation among logistics companies, shipping lines, airlines, infrastructure investors, e-commerce corporations, international distribution centers, technology companies and financial institutions.

This will help position Da Nang as a strategic destination for trade and investment flows along major economic corridors.
