DNO - A gala event has been recently held at the Shilla Monogram Da Nang Hotel on Monday to honour South Korean airlines, travel agencies, and OTA platforms that have actively got involved in promoting, advertising, connecting, and maintaining a stable number of South Korean tourists to the city.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee cum Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet attributed the remarkable progress of the city’s tourism industry to the great, persistent, and dedicated contributions of South Korean partners.
The city eyed becoming a leading tourism and service center in Asia. It also identified South Korea as a strategic market that needs to be invested in and prioritized for stronger development in the coming time, he added.
He informed that the city is hosting a South Korean Tourist Appreciation Week as a deep gratitude to South Korean partners, businesses, and travellers.
During the event, the city awarded medals to 12 airlines operating direct flights from major South Korean cities to Da Nang, including Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, Air Busan, Jeju Air, T'way Air, Eastar Jet, Air Seoul, Jin Air, Aero K, Air Premia, Vietnam Airlines, and Vietjet Air.
In addition, 12 travel agencies and OTA platforms that bring South Korean tourists to Da Nang were also honoured. Included were MODE TOUR, HANA TOUR, CHANG TOUR, TOTOBOOKING COMPANY LIMITED, KLOOK TRAVEL TECHNOLOGY, KKDAY, LOTTE TRAVEL, YELLOW BALLOON and GHOST TOUR.
As part of the South Korean Tourist Appreciation Week in Da Nang, the city plans to organize a Farmtrip for top 10 leading travel agencies and 5 OTAs in South Korea, and welcome famous KOLs to experience tourism products. Also, a golf tournament will be held in the city.
Moreover, Da Nang is implementing the programme "Giving gifts to South Korean tourists", offering souvenirs such as conical hats, lanterns, paper fans, and promotional vouchers to all South Korean tourists visiting the city from August 1 - 8.
