DNO - As part of their recent working trip to France, some officials from the Da Nang People's Committee met with several leading partners in the fields of urban planning, public transport, and railway development to exchange experience and promote cooperation.

From May 31 - June 2, the Da Nang delegation, led by Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Le Quang Nam, had working sessions with Artelia Group, the French National Railway Company (SNCF) and the Embassy of Vietnam in France.
During the meeting with Artelia Group, both sides discussed solutions on urban development management, public transport systems, flood control, and climate change adaptation.
Artelia experts shared their experience in integrating land use planning with the public transport network to improve the efficiency of urban space utilization, and reduce congestion and emissions.
When working with SNCF, Da Nang’s officials learned about France’s experience in planning, investing, managing, and operating urban railway systems, as well as developing urban areas based on Transport-Oriented Development (TOD) linked to train stations and mobilizing resources for transport infrastructure projects.
The Da Nang visitors also conducted a field visit to the Saint-Lazare Station in Paris, one of France's typical TOD models. The station integrates rail services, metro lines, buses, commercial spaces, and public services into a seamless transport ecosystem that is both efficient and environmentally friendly.
Also, the Da Nang delegation worked with the Embassy of Vietnam in France to discuss the city’s urban development strategies, public transportation expansion, technical infrastructure improvements, and green transition and sustainable development goals.
The delegation requested the Embassy to continue facilitating connections with French organizations, businesses, research institutes, and experts.
According to the Da Nang People's Committee, the experience and development models observed in France will serve as valuable references for the city as it formulates strategies for modern, sustainable urban development, with public transportation positioned as a key driver of future growth.
