Speaking at the meeting, Secretary Quang shared updates on the city's socio-economic situation as well as its development orientation for the coming years.
He noted that Da Nang has been maintaining cooperative relations with five provinces in South-Central Laos.
In April, the city’s leaders and representatives of the five Lao localities signed comprehensive cooperation programmes for the 2026 - 2030 period. Based on the commitments made, Da Nang has been actively developing specific plans to implement the cooperation agreements.
Accordingly, in the field of education and training, Da Nang continues to provide full scholarships for Lao students, as well as consider increasing training quotas as requested by Lao localities.
The city also plans to maintain Vietnamese language centers and continues sending teachers to Laos and building additional centers.

According to Secretary Le Ngoc Quang, Da Nang has recently broken ground on the project to upgrade and expand National Highway 14D connecting the city with the Nam Giang International Border Gate and Sekong Province, with a total investment of nearly US$ 200 million.
He called on Lao localities to continue close coordination throughout the implementation process, particularly in traffic management during construction and vehicle load control after the route becomes operational, in order to ensure efficient and sustainable use of the infrastructure.
As Vietnam and Laos prepare to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic relations, the city Party chief proposed that both sides coordinate more practical and meaningful activities.
In particular, Da Nang wished to work with the Lao Embassy in Vietnam to organize commemorative events and a Vietnam - Laos Investment, Trade and Tourism Cooperation Forum connecting with Thailand, he added.
The city is also considering cultural and culinary exchange activities between Vietnam and Laos, as well as a Vietnamese language public speaking contest for Lao students and scholarship recipients studying in Da Nang.
For her part, Lao Ambassador to Vietnam Khamphao Ernthavanh highly appreciated Da Nang's socio-economic achievements and its development orientation in the near future.
She affirmed that Da Nang has made significant contributions to cooperative relations with the five south-central Lao provinces through practical support programs and cooperation agreements.
The Lao diplomat expressed her gratitude to the city’s leaders for their continued attention and support for Lao localities, as well as for creating favorable conditions for the Lao Consulate General in Da Nang to effectively fulfill its tasks.
She reaffirmed her commitment to serving as a bridge and working closely with the city to further promote cooperation programs in the years ahead, contributing to the sustainable development of the special friendship between the two countries.
