DNO - Da Nang’s economy continued its upward trajectory in August 2025, with major sectors recording robust gains compared to both the previous month and the same period last year.
Retail and services were a highlight. Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue reached over VND 21.8 trillion in August, a year-on-year increase of 22.8%.
For the first 8 months of 2025, the figure climbed to over VND 168 trillion, up 24% from a year earlier. Wholesale trade also showed resilience, totaling over VND 200 trillion, an increase of 16% year-on-year.
Industry maintained a steady recovery, with the industrial production index rising 12% from the same period in 2024. Mining posted the sharpest growth at 46.8%, while manufacturing rose 11.7%.
The production and distribution of electricity, gas, and water increased 15.8%, and waste and wastewater management expanded 9%.
Fiscal performance remained strong. By August 25, state budget revenue was estimated at over VND 35.8 trillion, up 20.9% from last year.
Of this, central budget revenue accounted for over VND 7.5 trillion, while local revenue stood at over VND 28.2 trillion. Public investment reached VND 9.218 trillion, equivalent to 54.6% of the annual plan and up 9.2% year-on-year.
Investment inflows were another bright spot. From August 1 to 20, Da Nang attracted over VND 77.3 trillion in domestic investment, including three new projects worth VND 1.986 trillion and one capital adjustment of over VND 75.3 trillion.
Cumulatively, in the first eight months, domestic investment hit over VND 140.4 trillion, with 72 newly licensed projects and 27 expansions.
The strong performance across trade, industry, budget revenues, and investment underscores Da Nang’s role as one of Vietnam’s most dynamic growth engines heading into the final quarter of 2025.
